The practice, Breath Sweat and Bliss.

About the Shala

Grounded in tradition, shaped for today.

Astitva Prana Yoga Shala is a sanctuary in Mysuru dedicated to the art of conscious movement and breath.

Led by Hemanth, our practice honors the traditional Mysuru lineage while adapting to the needs of modern bodies. We focus on sustainability, precision, and the quiet power of consistency.

  • Intentional small-group classes for personal guidance
  • Progressive teaching rooted in traditional lineage
  • Support for therapeutic goals and injury recovery
  • A space for curiosity, humility, and inner steadiness

“Practice is not about doing the pose—it’s about about who you become while doing it.”

— Hemanth, Founder & Lead Teacher

The Meaning

Astitva

The state of being having a purpose of owning one’s existence, a conscious and powerful presence rather than just being or passing through Present Existence.

The Force

Prana

Breath, the life-giving force. The harmony between breath and movement can be achieved only by cultivating balance between these two elements.

Our Vision

“To awaken inner strength and stillness by integrating the breath, body, and consciousness, leading every practitioner to realize their authentic Astitva.”

Lineage & Philosophy

Returning to the Source

Prana is the source of all activity. Its power is directly connected to the state of the mind, just as it is to the physical body. While nourishing the body through diet and exercise is relatively easy, cultivating calmness of mind is far more challenging.

The practitioner must consciously expand their state of awareness to synchronize breath with physical movement. Through this practice, one neither sinks into memories of the past nor disperses energy into planning the future.

  • Awareness: Synchronizing breath with conscious movement.
  • Presence: Overcoming fluctuations of the subconscious mind.
  • Integration: Inhabiting the present moment through deep concentration.
“Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts.”
